Oh that's right! It's 4-20! That means it is the anniversary of the first time I ever released a game!
That's right, I made a game. Back in the day, which in this case, is 8 years ago to this day. I released a game on Newgrounds.com called Snake in the Grass. (It has since been taken down and re uploaded as Snake in the Grass 2)
The game itself is just a clone of the ever familiar Snake, that you might remember playing on an old Nokia phone. It was my first attempt to build a game myself though, which is what I needed after the failure that was my College Career.
I quit going to school shortly before this game was put online, because the school itself was a joke. That's a story for another time, but after I quit going, I didn't give up. I still pursued my hobbies in animation and game design, much like i do now. But I wasn't refined in any way. I was a stoner college dropout, and so when I started working on ideas for a possible Flash game to make, the idea of releasing a game on 4-20 thrilled me.
So I got to work and made this mess. Haha. And that guy with the blonde beard? You've seen him before. In this cartoon I made.
(Give it time to load, I knew nothing about optimization or compression at the time)
So the game is started by clicking on the tray on the table, and then pressing the space bar. You move with the arrow keys. Avoid colliding with your "snake", and try to make it through to the end. (You can Pause with 'P' or change songs with the 1-6 keys)
As a small bonus for staying tuned thus far, I have another GIFt to show you. Pun intended.
One of my first animations when I started using my Wacom tablet. I made this .GIF in Flash back when GTA IV was still relatively new and the Wii was dominating sales.
Happy 4-20 everyone!
